Airbrush Tanning; The scientific bit
Heavenly Bodies uses only the finest ingredients. The natural, flawless colour is achieved by using top quality pharmaceutical grade Aloe Vera as the major component — over 65% — which results in an incredible golden tan. By using medical grade ingredients, Heavenly Bodies have introduced a new first class standard in self–tan treatments. In keeping with their ethos of using top quality ingredients, the DHA (the active ingredient in all self–tans) is a natural product derived from raw sugar cane.
Before your tanning treatment
Exfoliate and thoroughly moisturise the night before your treatment. On the day remember not to wax, shave or apply deodorant or perfume. Also read the tanning advice page
What do I wear for a Heavenly Body?
Whatever you feel comfortable with! Your own swimsuit, bikini, thong or knickers. You can always "dare to bare" — perfectly acceptable as this is a no hands–on treatment which only takes about 8 minutes. Guys — boxers or trunks please!
The great thing about Spa Angels bringing a Heavenly Bodies tan to you at your home, is that you can wander around in your undies whilst the tan develops for the rest of the day or evening. Ensure you wear loose clothing if you do go out afterwards.
Does it go everywhere?
No! You may worry that the spray ends up flying around the room, landing on walls and furniture — this doesn't happen!!!! I bring a pop up screen and large floor sheet to give you peace of mind, but as the airbrush nozzle produces such a fine spray which is directed in tiny circular motions onto your skin, the possibility of overspray is minimal.
After your treatment
You will be left with a slight glow immediately after your treatment but the tan does take between 6 and 12 hours to develop fully. Your skin won't feel all wet and gloopy, just slightly tacky — not uncomfortable at all. For best results, you shouldn't bathe or shower until the next day. When you do, be gentle — no scrubbing! Pat yourself dry — no vigorous drying — and keep moisturised. Your tan should last between 7 and 10 days.
